I completely agree with the merits and proven track record of TCM and Ayurvedic medicine. The only problem are the bad apples that are mixed in with them.

However, I remain pretty positive. As Earth’s natural resources twindle and drug resistance increases, there will be increasing profit in creating natural remedies. Just imagine that, human beings actually working together with the planet instead of gutting everything.

Looking forward to that day.

Your last comment is great. Look at the subject of Medicine in an open and unified way , using the techniques of modern technology to test all forms of traditional medicine in a free open manner.

But alas, Pharmaceutical economics is directed toward maximum profit , not maximum human benefit.

A note to remember here also is TCM and Ayurvedic medicine have been used on billions of people in China and India for over 2000 years , so it is not just the latest backyard concoction. China was doing Open Heart surgery using only acupuncture before 1965 . The patient is still awake and talking ! Meanwhile in America at that time the attitude was that acupunture was just more superstition & hokus pokus.
What I am suggesting here is , there might be much more treasure in there if you dig deep , as the eyes are just beginning to open in the ‘West’ at long last.
The integration you speak of is not going to happen if you wait for the Pharmaceutical company’s to take the lead , it must come from Informed People demanding it because they Know it makes Common Sense. Actually common sense is not the best word just yet, but lets hope is is the words to describe many things in the near future.

There has been some progress with more research into TCM or other “alternate” form of medication. Though there are many merchants who are taking the opportunity to sell fake miracle cures just by saying it is Traditional Chinese Medicine etc…

It sounds like it worked for you wonderfully though, and definitely much more cost effective than paying for tests and surgery.

To be fair though, taking anything into your body should be done with the utmost caution and research first. Because with Chinese Medicine, some of it has to be balanced carefully based on the elements of the individual. Similar to taking stomach protecting pills when ingesting other medication that may cause stress on your stomach.

I hope that there will be more budget spent on all forms of natural remedies, so that we can create a global medical system that is produced and affordable globally.

Believe I have found something out about Kidney Stones that the doctors doesn’t know or are reluctant to talk about. Also I have no family doctor , insurance or desire to have one. This Event happened when I was traveling . TCM , Traditional Chinese Medicine , is very big in that part of the world , and a friend told me about someone he knew that used a herbal TCM product to dissolve his stones. Cost $30 . This gave me the Idea to try something like that myself. There was two identical stones about the size and shape of a rat dropping. Came out about 10 months apart. Looked like they had just formed in the end of the Bladder.
Anyway The second one I used an Indian Ayurvedic preparation and it worked also in the same way.

Unfortunately there are many merchants who are blinded by the lure of money, selling out their fellow human beings in exchange for wealth. While regulations may help things on the surface, real change will only happen when we improve our fundamental moral values globally.

Hi Uni Verse, it depends on the medical coverage of your country or insurance. Since a testing for Melamine in the body basically amounts to testing for kidney stones, it is a good idea to go through your family doctor.

Singapore , Malaysia , and around there serve real nice , extremely white, sweetened liquid Coffee Whitener, in all the coffee shops. A very cheap product from China.
Believe I can thank that for my one year of suffering with Kidney Stones.
So it is not just baby’s that get kidney stones from Melamine , I think this is another effect that is covered up , as it gives the hospital’s a steady supply of customers .

What is the cost to test for Melamine ?
Anyone know ?

I eventually passed the Kidney Stones using simple products from a Traditional Chinese Medicine shop. Have them as samples to test.

This is spooky.
3-4 years ago I consumed huge amounts of coffee whitener I purchased from Food Basics, also. I do not recall the name, it was their store brand (2.97 per container) and I asked one of my chemist friends, if she knows the ingredients of the coffee whitener… Then soon after that I developed very deep ridges on my right thumb nail. These are very pronounced ridges. I had no clue what brought them about.
Somebody said that they may indicate kidney problems…
Is it possible I purchased my kidney problem at Food Basics?!?

i come from germany and ate a menots yogourt packeage there i think like 3 pieces in july 2008 and im not sure if it was tainted?! An andswer wood be great…
